October is World Menopause Month and 18th October 2025 is World Menopause Day
Musculoskeletal (MSK) pain during menopause is common and can include joint aches, stiffness, muscle pain, and reduced strength, often linked to declining oestrogen levels. Lower oestrogen can affect joint cartilage, weaken muscles, and increase inflammation, while hormonal changes may also increase pain sensitivity. Managing MSK pain involves lifestyle strategies like regular exercise and a healthy diet and consulting a healthcare professional for potential treatments like physical therapy, or hormone therapy.
We are really lucky in the New Forest to have a wealth of healthcare professionals who can help you through perimenopause and menopause in conjunction with your GP and MSK specialists, like the team here at Lyndhurst Chiropractic Clinic.

Dr Mari Walling and Dr Emma Ginns – Lemala Health
Many of you will know them but for those who don’t, we would like to introduce Lemala Health – Menopause and lifestyle medicine specialists dedicated to helping women navigate perimenopause and manage menopause with confidence.
Dr Emma Ginns and Dr Mari Walling are friends, doctors and menopause specialists who bring an enormous wealth of understanding and experience to offer bespoke, compassionate menopause care that looks at the whole picture, not just one symptom at a time.

Rissa Love – creator of MadHatter’s Tea Parties
They have been extremely busy throughout the New Forest speaking to many women about their menopause experiences and answering questions. They have been attending MadHatter’s Menopausal Tea Parties across the Forest, in partnership with Culture in Common. These are tea parties with a difference! A welcoming, safe space to chat all things hormonal, drink mocktails out of teacups and eat tiny nutritional ‘Alice’ style treats.
The tea parties, organised by former midwife and natural therapist, Rissa Love provide a relaxed, fun environment where women can listen to, and empathise with, each other whilst having GP menopausal specialists on hand to answer their questions. See what the BBC said about the tea parties or join a waiting list for a tea party near you.
As with all things healthcare, don’t put up with pain or feel there is nobody to help. We work with so many great healthcare professionals waiting to find the right solution for you.
Booking an appointment with Lyndhurst Chiropractic Clinic means you’ll either receive appropriate care directly or be guided to a more suitable service if necessary. This approach supports both your comfort and clinical outcomes, helping you take the first step towards better movement and improved wellbeing.
